Constanta is located along the Black Sea Coast, in the south eastern part of the country, in Constanta county (in the Dobrogea zone).  

 

 

Flyghts to Romania 

Closest airport: M. Kogalniceanu, at aprox. 37 Km. Some charter lines link european cities with Constanta on this airport.

The Central airport near Bucharest, the country capital, is airport Henry Coanda (Otopeni) http://otp-airport.ro/. Most international flights are connected with this airport and the further trip to Constanta, by bus or car, takes approx. 4 hours.

From Bucharest to Constanta:

from Otopeni airport to Bucharest city (railway station):

• regular metro lines to North Station in Bucharest
• Express bus lines 780, platform 2, timetable at http://otp-airport.ro/index.php?cat=16&article=54. Travel tickets should be prior purchased from the platform boutique.

 further, from North Station/ Gara de Nord Bucharest reach Constanta 

• by bus: a 10 min. walk uo to Parcalab Baldovin Bus station (Address: Str. Baldovin Parcalabul, Sector 1 – see map) where regular buses depart at approx. a ½ hour frequency to Constanta main railway station. Schedule for bus trips Bucharest-Constanta can be found at http://www.autogari.ro/Transport/Bucuresti-Constanta/643-207.aspx. Trip duration is approx 3,5 hours.
• with direct train lines to Constanta, departures from the North Station (check www.mersultrenurilor.ro for timings). Trip duration by train is approx. 5 hours, due to rail tracks renovations.

 

 

 

 

 

 

From Constanta Station the University can be reached either by bus (lines 40, 41 up to Turda stop, prior need to purchase a ticked to be validated in the bus; prepare romanian currency) or by taxi (approx 0.4 Euro/ Km).

 

Useful info:

 

Payments on Romanian teritory are to be maid only in romanian currency - New Romanian Leu (RON). The average rate is approx. 4.15 RON for 1 EURO.

Many stores, hotels and restaurants accept card payments as well as cash. Still, in small boutiques, market, taxi etc. cash payments only will be available.
